BURGERS are the accompaniment to the jazz soundtrack at an exotic new arrival at the city end of Oldham Road – the Jungle Jazz Cafe.
Their names are a homage to 20th century musical great, so you can order a ‘Quincy Jones’ (a beef pattie with a portobello mushroom, tomato and creamy peppercorn sauce, £9) or a ‘Nina Simone’ (a breaded fish fillet, pea purée in a bum finished with tartare sauce and fries, £8.50)
Alternatively, you could have a salad session with "The Duke Ellington" – a seasoned salt and pepper honey-glazed sweet potato creation with peppers, sun dried tomatoes and hummus (main picture, £7.50).
Add in cocktail discounts throughout January and regular live music and it’s a lively addition to the Ancoats scene.
