BOOK NOW FOR GRUB’S WINTER BEER FEST AT FAIRFIELD SOCIAL CLUB

2 January 2019 by Neil Sowerby

WELL, it is Tryanuary, aiming to boost beer consumption in the ‘driest’ month of the year. If you can’t wait for Manchester Beer and Cider Festival 2019 (January 24-26) check out a more boutique booze-athon, brought to you by street food gurus GRUB.

Their third Winter Beer Festival features a fantastic line-up of seasonal beers alongside street food, naturally, and wall to wall DJs. It will take place Friday-Sunday, January 18-20 at GRUB’s  dedicated events space Fairfield Social Club, where nearly 100 beers will be pouring from over 40 taps brewed by some 50 local, national and international breweries.

You can expect to drink big dark beers, classic German lagers and all manner of seasonal ales from some of the best craft breweries around such as Magic Rock Brewing, Runaway Brewery, Kernel, Buxton Brewery and Brew By Numbers.

Local food traders set to line your stomach include Vaso Kitchen (go for the keema fries) and Get Wurst (quality bratwurst, not the Christmas Market crap) while Manchester cake legend Bakeorama will have her own ‘dessert bar’ matched to beers. Don’t like beer? There’ll also be mulled wine, mulled cider and a range of soft drinks.

John Consterdine, GRUB bar manager and curator of the festival said “We can’t wait to start pouring these amazing beers and to see Manchester come together for a good winter knees up, Winter Beer Fest is always an amazing, friendly beer festival and this year looks better than ever!”

Winter Beer Fest starts Fri 18 at 12pm with five different sessions over the weekend. It’s a ticketed event, £5.87 to £16.42, buy here. Fairfield Social Club, Archway 6, Temperance St, M12 6HR.
