MANCHESTER Beer Week’s MBW 2018 Awards have been announced. Voted for by the discerning ale-drinking public (twice as many as last year) they were presented at a ceremony in the Marble Arch up on Rochdale Road, which fittingly won ‘Best Pub’.
For multi-award winning Cloudwater it was a double whammy – scooping ‘Best Brewery’ and ‘Best Brewery Tap’ gongs.
Dates for next summer’s citywide celebration of all things hoppy and malty have still to be announced. Here is the full list of this year’s winners.
Best Brewery: Cloudwater

Best Pub: The Marble Arch

Best New Pub/Bar: Station Hop, Levenshulme
Shortlisted: The Assembly, House of Hops, The Library, ÖL Nano Brewery & Bar, Station Hop.
Best Beer Selection: Port Street Beer House
Shortlisted: The Brink, Cafe Beermoth, Pi Altrincham, Port Street Beer House, Station Hop.
Best Independent Beer Retailer: The Epicurean, West Didsbury
Shortlisted: Ancoats General Store, Beermoth, Craft Brewtique, The Epicurean, The Northern Type.
Best Brewery Tap: Cloudwater
