Dakota Manchester launches new Sunday Lunch menu

19 July 2019 by Neil Sowerby

WE hadn’t notice the absence of a Sunday Lunch menu at Dakota Manchester. There’s been so much else going on at this luxury boutique hotel arrival. That’s now been rectified and there can’t be any more decadent venue than the 120-cover Dakota Bar & Grill for classic roasts with all the trimmings.

The new menu costs £25 for two courses or £30 for three every Sunday from 12.30pm to 5pm. Starters include ham hock fritter with pea & Serrano ham; fritto misto with garlic & saffron aioli; and chicken liver parfait with fig jam and brioche.  Mains offer a choice of roast beef, roast chicken or nut roast, with Yorkshire puds, roasties, honey roast parsnips, carrot and swede mash, green beans and cauliflower cheese for the table.

Alternatively there’s pork belly with soft crab shell, girolles, celeriac and broad beans; line caught stone bass with king scallop, red pepper puree and asparagus; and sweet potato rosti with wild mushrooms, spinach and poached egg.

Among the desserts there’s creme brûlée with cinnamon shortbread; sticky toffee pudding with toffee sauce; avocado brownie with basil sorbet; vanilla cheesecake with strawberry sorbet; Eton mess; and a selection of ice-creams and sorbets.

For an additional £10, guests can finish with the cheese trolley, showcasing a selection of 10 cheeses from the hotel’s specialist supplier, the Cheese Larder. Our fave trolley though looks to be the Bloody Mary trolley, serving bespoke Bloody Marys to order.

After a few of these you may wish to book a room in the hotel, which offers some spectacular lodgings
