Exciting new pop-up hub under the Mancunian Way hatches a Crab

17 April 2018

WHEN ToM attended a recent showcase for traders at Hatch, the Bruntwood-run pop-up project under the Mancunian Way on Oxford Road we were excited what was already in place – a lively community of indie traders from artisan craftsmen to budding food and drink entrepreneurs.

Our excitement level has just gone up a notch with news that Holy Crab have secured a regular base there for 12 weeks from Monday, April 23. For the past three years Lou and Hannah have run one of the city’s finest street food operations, so it’s quite a catch!

Their speciality is sustainably sourced seafood, prepared in many forms. Ask us to pick a fave and we’d probably order a triple helping of cheesy crab balls with a side of Bloody Mary mussels. Oh, and maybe a half dozen oysters shucked in front of our eyes.

Holy Crab, Hatch, Oxford Road, Manchester, M1 7ED. @HolyCrab_UK Open Mon-Tues 11am-3pm; Wed-Sat 11am-9pm; Sun 12pm-6pm.

Check out the rest of the Hatch line-up ahead of further expansion at Cooking up a storm at Hatch – new food, drink and retail pop-up.
