ENGLISH Wine Week (May 26-June 3) is fast approaching and it’s good to see award-winning, Didsbury bistro, Hispi celebrating our vastly improved wine culture with an exclusive new menu, available for a limited time only.
Four English wines have been carefully selected as the basis of the menu by general manager Gareth Jones with the dishes being developed to complement these wines by exec chef, Richard Sharples and head chef James Peter.
The menu begins with a sparkling apple wine from Hush Heath Estate, paired with a pork scratching, sage and onion appetiser. The starter features a 2016 Pinot Gris from Stopham Estate, paired with a delicious prawn toast with a salted white cabbage. Next up for the main course is a 2016 Lychgate Red from Bolney Estate, paired with lamb leg cannon with salt baked celeriac and signature hispi cabbage. To finish, a Nyetimber Demi-Sec sparkler is paired with a gooseberry and mint fool.
The ‘English Wine Week’ menu is available May 26 – June 3 between 6pm and 9pm and features four courses with paired wines for £60 per person. To book, call 0161 445 3996 or email firstname.lastname@example.org and state that this is your preferred menu.
