Four great breweries orbit Kosmonaut in a one-night tap takeover

19 February 2018 by Neil Sowerby

YOU’D think Kosmonaut would be happy enough with their own ‘in-house’ brewery, Alphabet but, no, they’re inviting a quartet of quality rivals around for a night-long tap takeover that really does qualify as a Hopstravaganza.

On Thursday, March 1 four of the finest independent breweries in the UK, Northern Monk, Wylam, DEYA and Verdant, are heading to the NQ bar with a carefully curated selection of their best liquids. With Kosmo’s homemade BBQ & Louisiana style hot wings to provide the essential ballast. So who are this fab four?

• Leeds’ own Northern Monk combine the best of traditional monastic brewing values with a progressive approach to raw materials and techniques in their Grade II listed mill brewhouse.

• Geordie master brewers Wylam match uncompromising artwork and startling titles to equally attention-grabbing beers.

• DEYA, from Cheltenham, find inspiration at the hoppy end of the American craft brewing scene but their ale portfolio stretches wider still.

• Same goes for Verdant Brewing Co, a big ToM fave, who now boast their own brewery and taproom in sunny Falmouth.

Beer lists for the evening will be announced on the Kosmonaut website and on social media
