Frogs and monkeys help Cottonopolis to conquer in UK’s premier cocktail awards

18 October 2018 by Neil Sowerby

COTTONOPOLIS has always been a cut above many of its NQ counterparts. Nationwide recognition has followed with it scooping two gongs at the Imbibe UK 'Drink's List of the Year' Awards.

Against some serious metropolitan mixological competition the Newton Street bar won  'Overall List of the Year', beating the likes of the Punch Room at the London Edition and Fifteen - Jamie Oliver's Hoxton bar and restaurant.

It also picked up the 'Avant-Garde' award for its third Edition cocktail menu inspired by Japanese idioms, with drinks including 'A Frog in a Well Knows Nothing of the Great Sea' (rum, mint, caramel, Chartreuse and Prosecco) and 'Even Monkeys Fall From Trees' (gin, more gin, peach, papaya, banana, ginger and other stuff).

Judges said the Cottonopolis menu was unanimously chosen for its 'eye-catching design, strong concept and concise menu of cocktails'. "It's the super-stylish menu to end all menus in 2018", they added.

Cottonopolis, 16 Newton Street, Manchester M1 2AE.
