SEEMS odd that the the Fairfield Social Club will be hosting the ‘Free From’ special dietary festival this weekend (October 18) while perennial winter resident GRUB is holding its Fifth Birthday Party elsewhere, over at the Great Northern Warehouse (October 18-20).
A further reason to celebrate is recent success in the Manchester Food and Drink Awards, where Jason and Juliana Bailey and their stalwart street food team (above) won ‘Best Event’.
We’ll be there for the karaoke, face painting and a bouncy castle but may pay some attention to the rest of this exuberant celebration of street food and craft beer!
The food line-up reads like a roll call of the traders GRUB have promoted so diligently: Wallace & Sons, The Ottomen, Wholesome Junkie, Parmstar, Seitan’s Kebab, Mia’s Arepas, Osaka Local, Knead Pitta, Bakeorama, Chou Chou Patisserie, Geordie Soul and Huns. There’s a mini-beer festival, while the Sunday will be, as is the tradition, Plant-Powered.
