Honesty Box Day at Honest Burgers to aid local charities

8 July 2019

PAY what you feel your meal is worth at Honest Burgers on Bridge Street on Wednesday, July 17. But don’t be stingy – ‘Honesty Box Day’ is to help three cracking local charities.

Between 11.30am and 4.30pm 100 per cent of all takings on selected dishes will be divided between Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, Mustard Tree and Mood Swings (the trio voted for by Honest Burgers customers).

When dining, customers simply stick a sticker on the donations board next to the charity they wish their donation to go to and the proceeds are split accordingly.

Customers can choose any items from the menu, including the Manchester special (main image), which sees a combination of Honest beef, (from their own butchery), Bury black pudding, Runaway beer cheese sauce, mini roasties, bacon gravy, rocket and pickles.

They can also order this month’s special – Buffalo Chicken (above), made with free-range buttermilk fried chicken, smoked bacon, Frank’s Red Hot buffalo sauce, blue cheese mayo, pickles and lettuce. All burgers come with homemade rosemary salted chips.

Tom Barton, co-founder of Honest Burgers, said: “The idea for our Honesty Box Day came from seeing an honesty box in a little coastal town in Wales, which donated all the proceeds to the community.

“That started the wheels turning and got us thinking about how we could do something good for the local community when we open a new restaurant. So please do turn up, tuck in and dig deep for three very worthy causes.”
