FRESH from its high profile Masterpiece Dinner at The Whitworth, Action Against Hunger is back in the region for another appetising fund-raiser.

Maray x Noone & Son on Thursday, November 9, is a collaboration between the acclaimed Liverpool small plate restaurant Maray and top-end fruit and veg supplier R Noone & Son at their Stockport wholesale base – all in aid of the the global humanitarian charity.

For £50 a head, you get a five courser using the freshest of produce sourced on the spot and featuring the Middle Eastern dishes that have earned the Bold Street contemporary cafe a place in the 2018 Waitrose Good Food Guide.

The menu is: on arrival pumpkin and pickled pear/button mushroom, tahini, bitter cherry/anchovies, sumac; smoked carrots, ras el hanout, amber labneh, almonds; torched mackerel, radish, smoked feta, pomelo; rose harissa lamb rump, squash and dukkah; poached apple, cardamom, Campari cream.

Vegan options are available and the meal is accompanied by a pairing presented and provided by Scott White of Boutinot Wines.

The purpose of the evening is to raise funds for AAH –  a global organisation committed to helping malnourished children. James Bates, co-founder of Maray, and Lucy Noone of R Noone & Son are both doing a trek to Nepal in April next year to raise funds for the charity and all profits from the evening will go towards the £10,000 that they need to collectively raise.
