THE RABBIT IN THE MOON TO HOST SAKE PAIRING DINNER

14 May 2018

THE Rabbit In The Moon is unapologetic about the Japanese influences on its food – which since its recent relaunch has gone stratospheric (our five star review here).

So what’s a better fit than a sake pairing dinner for the fine dining restaurant on the top floor of the Urbis. This exclusive collaboration with sake connoisseurs Sushi Sushi and Sam Sake will take place on Friday, June 8.

For £90 a head eight different glasses will accompany a special tasting menu, which includes langoustine toast, soy and ginger glazed pork cheek, unagi bao, native lobster with Thai flavours and fillet of beef with salt and pepper prawn. Puddings will be white chocolate passionfruit and peppercorn eclair.

Stuart Turner from Sushi Sushi and Sarah Wedgbury from Sam Sake will also be on hand throughout the evening to guide guests through a range of grades and styles of sake, whose umami flavours are designed to enhance this style of food. A vegetarian and pescatarian menu is also available and a glass of sparkling sake will kick off the evening. Tables are available at 7pm, 7:45pm and 8:30pm.

The Rabbit in the Moon, Urbis Building, Corporation Street, Manchester, M4 3BG. 0161 804 8560. £90 for full set tasting menu with sake pairing. Tables available to book at 7pm, 7:45pm and 8:30pm. Book here.
