United sign up Michelin-starred Tom Kerridge (but don’t worry, Ole)

10 October 2019 by Neil Sowerby

TOM Kerridge’s inexorable march on Manchester continues. Not content with preparing to open his Bull & Bear in the new Stock Exchange Hotel and bringing MFDF to a close with an accomplished Sunday roast pop-up, the telegenic chef has now been signed by Manchester United.

Under-fire manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has no fears for his place in the dug-out on this count. The Michelin-starred chef’s remit is to overhaul the lacklustre match day food offering at all levels. Rivals City haven’t just been superior on the field in recent years.

Don’t expect him to scatter stardust on the pies but his own brand will be sold from kiosks across the Old Trafford stadium, while a menu of his modern British dishes will be served in the newly-refurbished International suite pre- and post-match.

This lifelong United supporter and season ticket holder will also attend a number of games at the club’s premium matchday VIP experience, No.7 at Old Trafford, curating a five-course menu and meet and greet fans.

Such quality doesn’t come cheap. This package, available first at the crunch clash with Liverpool on October 20, will set you back £1,666.67.

You’ll be able to taste his food at more modest prices from November 15 when he launches his Bull & Bear in the Stock Exchange Hotel – run, of course by Reds legends Gary Neville and Ryan Giggs. Booking is now open.

The B&B menu is similar to that of his Bar and Grill at London’s Corinthia Hotel and his one-star Marlow, Bucks pub, The Coach. His flagship in the same town, The Hand and Flowers, is the only pub in the country with two Michelin stars.
