We have to say, Jack Spratt was never our favourite restaurant. The food was a bit unfocused, with influences from all over the globe making for a bit of a mixed bag on the table. However, last month, the venture was sold and bought by new owners who open for trading this week as the Splendid Sausage Company.
We like the look of this charmingly named sausage (pictured) called "The King" which includes beef sausage topped with peanut butter, Dijon mustard, bacon, deep fried banana, crispy bacon bits and a peanut and mustard sauce.
The outlet, selling locally sourced sausages, is a new independent and it opens this Friday 11 April. If you are one of the first to buy a sausage and a side you can get a free beer, glass of wine or a soft drink. Sounds like a deal to us.
