Ezra & Gil

20 Hilton Street

Northern Quarter

Manchester

M1 1FR

Ezra means ‘helper’ & Gil means ‘happiness’, which sounds a recipe for good service and contented customers – a combination this popular independent urban coffee house pulls off with aplomb.

This is a place you can linger in over your laptop or meet friends at. You can even bring your pooch as it's dog friendly.

Open from 8am until 8pm, the menu starts with a comprehensive list of brunch dishes from straight up sourdough through to eggs Benedict various ways, to the classic full, veggie or vegan fry up.

The lunch menu is available from 12pm and features soup and freshly made sandwiches on sourdough or Italian piadina flatbread with fillings such as BBQ chicken, hummus or chick pea and chorizo.

You could even try one of their poke-style bowls filled with dressed sushi rice, garnished with with E&G soy and ginger, spring onions, edamame, sweetcorn, pickled cabbage, carrots & sesame seeds. Choose toppings such as avocado and Sriracha mayo, chicken chilli and teriyaki mayo or king prawn.
Evening meals are mostly pasta based and there's also an interesting range of healthy salads. There's always a range of delicious cakes and bakes on display.

Ezra & Gil opened in the Northern Quarter in 2015 and a second branch is opening soon on Peter Street.
