As with all Trof bars (The Deaf Institute, Trof in the Northern Quarter, the Salutation and so on) the interior is a real treat, full of reclaimed objects and comfy booths that give the contemporary railway arch space a welcoming, funky atmosphere day and night. Food is posh late night tucker: roast chicken, sweet potato wraps, all day breakfasts and Oreo milkshakes. There’s a gin parlour (including treats like the herbalicious Menorcan Xoriguer) to explore on the upper deck plus 600-person capacity live venue out back featuring the best in comedy, as well as DJs like Mike Skinner (The Streets) and live shows from bands like Dirty Projectors and Dutch Uncles. Deservingly shortlisted for MFDF Newcomer of the Year 2012, Gorilla is located in the former Green Room theatre premises.
