This spacious café in the foyer of a Victorian-era former fish and poultry market is a Northern Quarter secret. Light filters through large panes on the roof into a traditional market space thats surrounded by creative types working away in their studios in the Craft and Design Centre. The result is somewhere to grab a healthy, fresh brunch and browse ceramics, handmade jewellery and fabrics at the same time. Options include Norlander toast from Barbakan bakery, served with homemade peanut butter or spiced, toasted teacakes both for £2. Theyve just launched a new bacon, tomato and rocket toastie too while tea and coffee come from sustainable, top-end suppliers like the Brew Tea Co.
Breakfast is served Mon- Sat 10am 4.30pm. Just during December the café is open until 8pm on Thursdays and its also open on Sundays.
