Nick de Sousa of Chorlton's Lead Station has opened another quirky joint that stands out from the all the identikit NQ watering holes while not straying too far from the tmplate. Tariff and Dale’s sympathetic refit has worked around an old cotton baler and vintage weighting devices, so it doesn’t look like some crass post-industrial rent-a-girder joint and, of course, that disused lift shaft. It's a superior food and drink offering, too, with cocktails from the excellent Ozzie Foster and playful food (the sausage rolls are mini masterpieces) from chef Vernazza, who also has charge of a top-notch pizza oven.
