100 Great Beers Fest plus MFDF Street Food Session 2 line-up

23 September 2014

SHOW me the way to Amarillo. Taste of Manchester has decided to focus on just one contender in this year’s 100 Greatest Beers Fest at the Manchester Food and Drink Festival.

For the final week official brewery sponsors Thwaites have handed the drinking marquee  over to Greater Manchester’s finest independents – one of the brightest of which is Radcliffe’s Brightside, who have produced an array of Manchester-themed ales, with appropriate labels designed by head brewer Neil Friedrich. Here’s a swift taster...

B-Side, the newest beer, is our tribute to the Manchester music scene; Gridlock is a wink in the direction of Deansgate at rush hour; Manchester Skyline features an image of the skyline taken at night by a local photographer; The Mancunian pump clip was created by asking customers, friends and family to send us photos of themselves;  Our Town is a collage of the famous street signs in the city.

All very laudably Manc, but the TOM favourite from Brightside is the Amarillo American Style IPA, last October awarded the SIBA North West Champion Beer at their festival. It’s the first beer on draught at the new Wine and Wallop bar in Lapwing Lane, West Didsbury, which opens on Thursday, September 25.
