SUMMER feels like it has almost arrived with the return of a revamped Lawn Club to Spinningfields complete with a redesigned menu from top chef David Gale.
The ‘indoor/outdoor’ bar was one of 2014’s success stories, the food menu being matched by first class cocktails, wines and spirits. Now it’s back, from Monday, May 18, with brand new interiors and, adding to its appeal, a new private lawn and games to play on it.
Expect parasols, BBQs, wood burning stoves, blankets, lawn games, candle-lit evenings, take away lunches, gourmet picnic hampers, a membership scheme and complete private hire options.
The Lawn Club (pictured as it was), which shut in January to make way for redevelopments in Hardman Square, is now comprised of four areas. The main bar, which will also house the open kitchen, the restaurant area known as the Orangery, the brand new decking area offering al fresco dining and table service, and the private lawn – all available for private hire.
On the food side there’s a lunch and dinner menu, table service and a newly added Sunday roast – a Gale speciality. Gin will be a particular feature of the drinks menu with some of the best, small batch distillations the world has to offer.
There’ll be a full programme of events – from lawn games such as croquet and Kubb, to cocktail masterclasses; food pairing evenings with guest chefs, to DJs and live music.
The concept has been developed by James Wrigley’ Fluid Bars in partnership with Spinningfields developer Allied London.
