A Merry Cheesemas from Mamucium – all three kilos of it melted

STAID with the Stilton, only choosy about Cheddar? A self-indulgent, artery-heartening, gout-inducing Christmas requires a more full-on cheesy statement. That’s where Mamucium comes in with their Cheesemas Feast. It’s already tempting the ToM team to uncork a bottle of Port on its behalf.

It’s an awesome challenge on a plate. Head chef Andrew Green and his team bake 3kg of

French cheese, surround it with freshly baked festive fruit and nut loaf, pigs in blankets tossed in honey and grain mustard, clementine spiced cranberry sauce, award-winning W H Frost crispy home cured pancetta, cox apples, rose grapes, Derby Hill Farm hand-made artisan salted butter and candied pecans. 

They expect it to feed a party of 10-12, being quite modest or as a challenge for a couple of you. It costs £59.95 and is available daily 12pm-10pm, subject to availability, but must be booked 24 hours in advance.

For a smaller but equally delicious cheese treat, Mamucium will also serve Baked Camembert with similar trimmings and during the same hours for £29.95 (no booking required but subject to availability). 

For an additional touch of festive flair, the restaurant will also offer unlimited mulled wine or Prosecco for £10 per person – valid for one and a half hours upon arrival.
