All things artisan as The Makers Market makes a weekend of it in Spinningfields

15 March 2016 by Neil Sowerby

SPINNINGFIELDS welcomes The Makers Market back for its second weekend of 2016, on Saturday and Sunday, March 19-20. Showcasing an array of award-winning makers, from highly acclaimed food and drink suppliers to arts, crafts and vintage wares, the markets will be a monthly feature on the estate throughout the year.

Held every third weekend of each month, the Makers Markets take up residency across Spinningfields Square and The Avenue.

Expect award-winning chutneys, great coffee, baked goods and local cheeses alongside a wealth of craft, textile and fashion stalls.

This weekend will also feature musical entertainment in the form of acclaimed local talents, Finola (Saturday) and Jade Ann (Sunday).

Lisa Baldwin, events manager at the Makers Market, said: “‘Hosting the Maker’s Markets in Spinningfields allows us to bring the very best of the makers community into the heart of city centre.  After the success of the Spinningfields Makers Market last year, we are thrilled to be back with even more of the region’s finest makers and artisan producers.”

Sat 19-Sun 20 Mar, Spinningfields Square and The Avenue, M3 3AE, 11am-5pm daily, FREE, www.themakersmarket.co.uk. Local artisans or performers interested in getting involved should email [email protected].
