Alphabet's new street food extravaganza launches this weekend

28 April 2017

WITH GRUB moving to the Mayfield Depot, Alphabet Brewing Co needed a swift Plan B (sic)… and they’ve come up with one, aiming to maintain the phenomenal success of their Saturday food fairs.

This Saturday (May 6, 12pm-10pm) they are launching Brew Tap and Food Yard, featuring Almost Famous, Proove Pizza, Cantonese whizzes Dim Sum Su and Deep South-inspired Oh My Glaze with beats by Pasta Paul & guests. Oh, and we don’t have to spell it out, a full roster of the freshest ABC beers.

Every Saturday thereafter, the focus at the Yard will be partnering the best food with the beers on offer, with a variation of three of the UK’s finest independent street food traders setting up shop on weekly rotation alongside, resident burger legends, Almost Famous.

Other street food traders to come on the impressive rotating roster include Olo Kitchen, Chaat Cart, Diamond Dogs, Burnt Onion, Well Hung, Que Delicia, The Pizza Maker and Bali beach Hut.

Coming through the taps for the launch will be, the event exclusive Back Yard (Pale Ale, 4.1% ABV) which will be backed up by, Alphabet stalwarts, A to the K (Oatmeal Pale Ale, 5.6%), Flat White (White breakfast Stout, 7.8%), Hoi Polloi (Pilsner, 4.8%) and special Juice Springsteen (Tropical Fruit IPA, 4.5%) which will be launching on the day, in addition to a fully stocked bar.

Alphabet director Joe Fearnhead told us: “At Alphabet we absolutely love making great beers and nothing goes better with great beers than top notch food and brilliant music. At the Brew Tap & Food Yard we are slinging all three together and creating a relaxed atmosphere for all those who enjoy that package”.

Admission is free, and the Alphabet Brew Tap & Food Yard is family friendly, with kids welcome until 8pm. Dogs are also more than welcome but on a lead when inside.

Alphabet Brewing Co, 99 North Western Street, Manchester M12 6JL.
