Artisan’s Christmas Marketfest… and a giant Polar Bear at New Bailey

23 November 2016

IT’S worth stepping down Bridge Street this festive season. This Sunday (Nov 27) the monthly market event at Artisan, Spinningfields, is a Christmas special with live music all day, more than 20 stalls and pop-ups plus a 30 per cent off food in the restaurant when booked in advance. Peroni will be running beer mixology classes at the venue and there will also be pasta making classes, with a gift for pasta makers to take away. Market entry free; to book tickets for the classes email [email protected]

Christmas Marketfest, Artisan, Avenue North, 18-22 Bridge Street, Spinningfields, M3 3BZ. Sun 27 Nov, noon-5pm, Free.

BEFORE that Thursday (Nov 24) marks the arrival of a Giant Polar Bear, created by local design studio Lazerian, at New Bailey to kick off the winter frolics there – along with their spectacular Winter Skyride, Christmas carols from the NQ Men’s Choir and an array of north west street food traders (there’s no sign of the city running out just yet).

Lazerian created the cardboard fireman Livermore at the London Road Fire Station and Dino the dinosaur  at B.eat Street. We have no images of the Polar Bear, so the picture is of a real one.

New business and leisure district New Bailey are running a competition to name the Polar Bear. Tweet @NewBaileyM3 your thoughts on a name to be in for a chance to win a prizw, the winner to be announced after the Bear is unveiled at 5pm at New Bailey Street, Salford, M3 5AX. Make sure to hashtag #MCRpolarbear **MISSION CHRISTMAS**
