Bangers & Bacon Add Flavour to Buy Art Fair with Pop-Up Restaurant

20 September 2016

THIS week’s Buy Art Fair at Old Granada studios is curated by Holden Media, the same folk who handle that other stalwart annual Manchester event, the Northern Restaurant Bar Show, so a gastronomic presence is not entirely unexoected.

And what a coup. Fresh off their TV collaboration with The Hairy Bikers and winning the Leftbank Kitchens competition, Bangers & Bacon will preview their brand new BEASTro at the North’s leading art show.

The BEASTro café will provide art fanciers s with a wide selection of light dishes, snacks and coffees, as well as a nod to the duo’s original ‘Mashup’ sausages and mash brand and, of course, the famous Manchester Egg. Early birds will be able to catch the B&B breakfast offering lined up for their upcoming permanent restaurant at Leftbank, Spinningfields – sausage and bacon sandwiches, smashed avocado and sourdough toast, granola pots and Manchester’s Second City Coffee.

Richard Brown, co-owner of BEASTro, with James and Heather Taylor (pictured above) told us: “We’re looking forward to bringing visitors to Buy Art Fair a taste of what BEASTro is about to become.  We’ll be using as many locally sourced products as possible, using a local baker to make all of the breads and a local coffee supplier too.”

Buy Art Fair CEO Thom Hetherington, said: “A pop-up restaurant was always part of our plan to reaffirm the events’ position not just as an acclaimed art fair but as a true lifestyle weekend destination, combining the best of art and culture with superb food and drink.”

Buy Art Fair has been instrumental in bringing together several other leading restaurant operators and galleries and artists. Working closely with Living Ventures’ Artisan restaurant Buy Art Fair has sourced partner galleries for their rotating exhibitions and most recently helped Manchester newcomer Grafene source show-stopping artwork from Ian Rayer Smith after owner Paul Roden spotted his work on the Buy Art Fair website.

Recognised as one of the UK’s most important festivals of visual arts, Buy Art Fair brings galleries, artists, talks and classes, exhibitions, music plus there are 3,000 artworks for sale.

Buy Art Fair. September 23-25 with an opening night on Thursday September 22. Find out more and get tickets at buyartfair.co.uk . The BEASTro café at Buy Art Fair will be open throughout the event in the Old Construction Workshop at Old Granada Studios St Johns,  M3 3JE.
