Burger and Lobster roll with it at Friday FoodFight in build-up to King Street Launch

8 March 2015

BURGER And Lobster have been taking their time opening in Ship Canal House. The chain had six outlets in London (plus one in Cardiff) when they first announced they were coming to Manchester last summer. Since then, with great chutzpah, they have opened in New York but the KIng Street site has been strangely quiet.

Until now. The builders are in at the 1924 building in King Street, interviews for a bar manager are scheduled for mid-March and the city got a taste of things to come on Friday, March 6 when B&C popped up at the FoodFight in the Great Northern Warehouse alongside the likes of Viet Shack, Yakumama and Splendid. Reaction from punters to their lobster roll was positive – ‘no words for how good this was’ and ‘amazing’ were two Tweets.

Burger & Lobster, owned by the Goodman Restaurant Group, plan a 167-cover restaurant on the ground floor, plus a 45-cover bar. Nebraskan beef and Nova Scotian lobster are thre source materials for the ‘concept’.
