INTERNATIONAL Emmy nominated TV chef and cookery author Ching He Huang is cooking for one night only at Yu, Alderley Edge on Wednesday, September 27.
She’ll be preparing a menu of sharing plates, including Sizzling Sichuan Wagyu beef carpaccio with Kumquat Chilli Salsa, Honey Roast Pork Char Siu with pickled plum shallot and Wok fried Ginger Soy Pak Choy with Crispy Garlic in a £95 a head bespoke dinner.
Ching has become an ambassador of Chinese cooking around the world. Born in Taiwan, raised in South Africa and the UK, Ching’s approach to cookery fuses the traditional methods of her grandparents with modern innovation using fresh, organic and ethically sourced ingredients.
Her TV work including BBC’s Exploring China, Chinese Food Made Easy (C5), Restaurant Redemption (Cooking Channel) and Ching's Amazing Asia (the Food Network) as well as a regular slot hosting Saturday Kitchen (BBC) and Lorraine (ITV).
Ching has published seven best-selling cookbooks to date and her eighth, Stir Crazy, is out this month.
Her host Victor Yu told us “Ching has been an inspirational figure for the Chinese community in the UK over the last few years and I’m honoured to have her join me in the kitchen in September. Ching has created a fantastic menu for the occasion and we’re fully anticipating a full house for the night.”
