Cottonopolis’ Secret Supper event returns with a steampunk extravaganza

9 February 2018

BACK in October, Cottonopolis invited folk to follow the fire and embark on a journey that would take them to a secret location to indulge in an eight-course dining experience.

Following the success of the previous Secret Suppers, the Northern Quarter bar have announced that they will be holding three further events to add to the series, kicking off with a trio of steampunk themed nights on February 22, 23 and 24. The eight course Victorian banquet and a theatrical venue transforming production by the Visual Architects will celebrate Manchester’s industrial past. So steampunk is singularly apt – a sci-fi genre that appropriates steam power, history, cogs and goggles in a weird and wonderful way.

This trio of dinners is the first of three, promising “unique and innovative concept each month, with their own immersive theme and imaginative dining and drinks menu”.

The further dates announced are: April 19, 20, 21; and June 21, 22, 23. Tickets are £75 a head and include a full tasting menu by head chef Joe Grant and drinks to match. To book email Cottonopolis at [email protected] stipulating the date you’d like to attend.
