THE final crowdfunding total raised by The Creameries Chorlton, is £32,000. It’s a major boost for the project, which hit the initial £20,000 target inside the first week.
Chef Mary-Ellen McTague and her partners, Sophie Yeoman and Soo Wilkinson plan to reopen the much-loved Wilbraham Road landmark in March with refurbishment funded by an earlier £60,000 investment well under way before the Christmas crowdfunding development.
The new cash injection will pay for equipment at the trio’s groundbreaking bakery/dairy/cafe venture
“We are beyond delighted at all the support we have received from local people, supporters further afield, and the press in Manchester”, says Sophie Yeoman. “There has been such a positive reaction to our project, which means so much to us as we put a lot of thought into what our community wants and needs, and then designed The Creameries around that.”
