Ethical + eclectic – Friska bring ‘pho to burrito’ brand to the city centre

25 February 2018

IT’S four years since independent healthy fast food chain Friska. won The Observer best ethical restaurant award and despite expansion since hasn’t abandoned its principles of quick serve food made from fresh, quality, and responsibly sourced ingredients..

Whether the cooking quality matches the ethos we’ll find out on Monday, March 12, when Friska’s sedond Manchester outlet opens No 2 St Peter’s Square (next unit to Wagamama), following a successful opening within The Bright Building at Manchester Science Park.

So what to expect? Breakfast offerings will include toasties, muffins and breakfast boxes while lunchtime favourites are hot boxes, wraps, burritos and pho noodles and cakes and coffee are constants, Monday to Friday.

Launched in 2009 by Griff Holland and Ed Brown, Friska has grown to 10 sites, seven in Bristol, where its started. All share a sustainable outlook on everything from the ingredients they use, the people they employ and the charities they partner – plus an ‘eat local’ policy.

In this video link affable Griff shares the Friska philosophy and selling point. Our main image is of an interior at one of the Bristol venues.
