Fat Beans spreading the fast food vegan gospel

20 April 2017

THE vegan food bandwagon is still on a roll with perhaps its most high profile North West exponent road-testing a new fast food venture we have high hopes for.

Fat Beans is the brainchild of Matthew Nutter – whose ‘plant-based’ gastronomic experience, The Allotment, received a five star review from Taste of Manchester last last year – and two chums, Ian Quigley and Paul Crook.

The plan is to launch in Manchester city centre, then taking ity across the country. So little acorns for the moment. Not that acorns figure in dishes currently being trialled that include a burger and an old Allotment favourite, Hot Cauli Wings.

There’s a chance for the public to give their feedback ol the new dishes at a pop-up in the Powerbeck Gym, 217c Wigan Road, Leigh, WN7 5DW on Sunday, May 14, 2pm-4pm; £5 for adults, £3.50 for children.

The Allotment, 6 Vernon St, Stockport SK1. Open Thur-Sat 6pm-11pm and Sun 12pm-4pm.
