Filthy Cow – Saucy New Burger Champion For Manchester

6 January 2015

JUST when you thought the Burger Boom might be sagging in its buns along comes a new wave. NQ dirty food dynamos Solita, not content with expanding into Didsbury now plan to add North Manchester to their Big Manc empire this spring.

Back in the town centre a new contender is sizzling into view this February. We give you, setting up sell in the former Lounge 10 premises: Filthy Cow. The sort of name you wouldn’t want to call your dining companion at the end of  a hard evening’s pattie munching, but it does give creator Jordan Gilmore and her team the chance to indulge in pledges such as we’ll “take the bull by the horns and change the face of dining in Manchester once and forever”.

But will the offering be as horny as Almost Famous, the most upfront Manchester champion against the Big Smoke burger invaders? Yes, Byron, you know who you are.

It will be fun to see how they get one if the handout is anything to go by:

“Filthy Cow has made it their mission to indulge the burger connoisseur’s wildest meat fantasies. They have gone to great lengths to make sure their well-hung, prime beef burgers are the ultimate guilty pleasure.” These pleasures are mirrored in spoof risque telephone box ads on the website – ‘Bulging beefcake - best bovine fun in town’ and, oo-er, ‘Juggle my udders’

To create their Fllthy Beast burger they promise all beef will be locally sourced, outdoor reared and from the best farms in the country. and there’ll be creamy milkshakes, local craft beers and weekly-changing wines from small producers.

The interior design is farmyard-industrial crossed with Soho-neon, apparently. So nothing new there then.
