FROM CHORLTON TO TOWN: The UK's No.1 Neapolitan Pizzeria Spot opens in Spring Gardens

18 March 2024 by Rhiannon Ingle

For anyone who absolutely loves Chorlton's gem of a pizzeria but fancied the UK's No.1 Neapolitan Pizzeria Spot to be closer to town - you'll be happy to know the lovely lot over at Double Zero has finally opened their brick-and-mortar branch in Spring Gardens.

While it may not have the same BYOB policy as its suburban older brother, the City Centre site will be carrying on the legacy with its famous tiled oven, mammoth bags of their signature flour and bucketloads of their mouth (and eye-) watering Double Zero scotch bonnet chilli oil.

The Spring Gardens branch is currently open for both delivery and collection orders from 12 pm with the very cushty offer which sees any 'za lovers out there able to nab themselves two pizzas for the price of one.

To bring on the exciting new chapter with a bang, Double Zero is also offering any item for free when you spend £25 on collection and Deliveroo for the whole rest of the week.

As for choice, all the go-to Double Zero favourites start with the same dough which is made on-site daily using only four ingredients: flour, water, salt and yeast, and fermented for a minimum of 48 hours. The pizzas are then stretched by hand, topped with authentic Italian ingredients and cooked for less than 90 seconds at 450c in their beautiful wood-fired oven all the way from Naples, the home of pizza.

Loved for its chewy crusts and delicious flavour, the crowd-pleasers include; La Grande Rossa (a Roma-style pizza made with Fior di Latte, tomato, chorizo, ‘nduja, pepper, salami and finocchiona), Partenopea (whole burrata, tomato, heirloom tomatoes, parma ham, parmesan shavings and basil), Friarielli (Scamorza, Italian wild broccoli and sausage), Vulcano (Fior di latte, tomato, pepperoni, ‘nduja, roasted jalapeños drizzled with hot honey) and the ultimate Mezzaluna - a mad hybrid of half calzone, half pizza crafted with Fior di latte, tomato, porchetta, mushroom and Italian cooked ham to top it all off.

Also, be sure to also get some sharing starter plates to start your meal off the Italian way with a choice of vegetarian and meat antipasti, arancini, burrata bruschetta and a proper good serving of cheesy garlic bread.
