Gary Usher and Steven Smith in quartet cooking Tim Bacon Foundation banquet

21 May 2018

A TRIO of the UK’s best chefs are teaming up with Manchester House’s Nat Tofan to cook a very special Chef’s Dinner there on Thursday, June 7 to raise funds on behalf of the Tim Bacon Foundation.

They are National Restaurant Awards 'Chef of the Year' nominee Gary Usher (Sticky Walnut, Hispi), Steven Smith (three-AA rosetteThe Freemasons at Wiswell) and Tony Parkin from Kent’s Michelin-starred The West House.

The four chefs will serve a six course banquet with each course paired with wines from Liberty Wines. Tickets are priced at £150, with all profits from the evening going towards the Tim Bacon Foundation to help support local cancer charities Maggie's Centres and Kidscan.

It is two years since the charismatic founder of the Living Ventures bar and restaurant empire passed away after a long struggle against cancer. The first appeal by the Foundation set up in his honour raised £500,000 towards establishing the UK's first Proton Beam Therapy centre at The Christie in Manchester.
