HATCH'S EXCLUSIVE FREE GIG WITH MIKE GARRY AND THE CASSIA STRING QUARTET

8 June 2018

HATCH’S eclectic entertainment programme continues with a free show by Manchester poet Mike Garry and the Cassia String Quartet on Thursday, June 14.

The unlikely pairing, whose recording of ‘Ode To Saint Anthony’ was a UK No.1 single, will debut tracks from their new album collaboration and, of course, perform the Ode, a eulogy to Tony Wilson, one of Manchester’s most iconic figures. The poem was set to music by composer Joe Duddell for the RNCM-trained Cassia String Quartet, to raise money for the Christie Hospital.

The Hatch performance will take place in the street food and craft retail hub’s newly expanded outdoor courtyard area, around which a cluster of reclaimed shipping containers is home to an array of globally-inspired indie food operators.

The Mike Garry and Cassia String Quartet performance will be free to attend and starts at 8pm.A hist of further events is planned for the summer at the Oxford Road site under the Mancunian Way.
