Honest Burgers to run week long pop-up at Northern Monk

7 March 2019 by Neil Sowerby

HONEST Burgers are set to bring their homemade honest butcher’s burgers to Manchester in a week long pop-up at Northern Monk’s Refectory Bar in Tariff Street in the Northern Quarter.

Running from Monday, March 11 to Sunday, March 17, the pop-up is a prelude to their predicted opening in the old Garage site in Manchester Hall.

The HB selling point is 100 per cent British beef patties made in their own butchery, served medium rare with homemade rosemary salted chips cut fresh every day. Beer seems the obvious match, so take your pick from the range available in the Tarriff Street offshoot of the acclaimed  Leeds Brewery – 12 Monk ales, six guests plus specials from Brooklyn guests Interboro NYC.

Included on the menu will be Honest Burgers’ signature ‘Honest’ burger – featuring British beef, homemade red onion relish, smoked bacon, cheddar, lettuce and homemade pickles.

HB co-founder Tom Barton told us: “We’re big fans of Northern Monk. They treat beer like we treat burgers and chips. No fuss and frills, just good quality. We’re looking forward to bringing our great British burgers, homemade rosemary salted chips, and our US-inspired Tribute burger, vegan Plant burger and bacon gravy to Northern Monk and the people of Manchester. We’re hoping a lot of people will come down to say hello and see what we’re all about before we officially open our doors next month.”
