It’s a warehouse party! Bistrotheque offers 50 per cent soft launch discount

BISTROTHEQUE, the restaurant which forms part of CULTUREPLEX, a new social and cultural destination at Ducie Street Warehouse, has announced a soft launch period (Sept 3-8) ahead of its official opening on Thursday, September 19.

Located on the edge of Manchester’s Northern Quarter at the western end of Ducie Street, CULTUREPLEX overlooks the Piccadilly Basin in a former goods warehouse, becoming the latest of the city’s heritage buildings to take on a new purpose.

As well as featuring Bistrotheque, CULTUREPLEX also contains a lounge, coffee counter Klatch, events spaces with outdoor terraces and a cinema.

Brought to Manchester by co-founders Pablo Flack and David Waddington, pioneers of the East London scene, Bistrotheque’s ethos has always been to offer uncomplicated good food, drink and service with common sense and good taste. The original in Wadeson Street, London (above) is starkly white and functional. Expect Ducie Street to bring more polish to the enterprise.

Bistrotheque will be open for dinner seven days a week and a brunch offering at weekends, with all menus under the exacting eye of chef director Blaine Duffy.

For an early chance to check out their menus for Manchester book a soft launch table by signing up to the CULTUREPLEX mailing list to receive a booking link. Thy will expect feedback from you.

A soft launch for the Lounge and Klatch at CULTUREPLEX will also start on September 3. Klatch is a coffee counter by day, with a ‘healthy(ish)’ ready to go offer that flips into a craft beer and natural wine stand by night. Healthy (ish) because there’s the odd indulgent toastie and sugary cake alongside their complex carbs and plant based options.

The Lounge is in the heart of the space, where a CULTUREPLEX newspaper acts as a food and drink bible, broken down into Morning, Afternoon & Evening, table served to wherever guests decide to flop down and plug in. Eating and drinking in the lounge will always be informal, democratically priced and top notch.

Soft launch for the Lounge and Klatch will run in both the afternoon and evening from September 3, adding in breakfast sessions from the 10th.

The Ducie Street Warehouse model is unlike traditional hotel developments as it will be run by three separate specialists, independently of each other, all concentrating on what they do best – CULTUREPLEX, the Blok gym and the Native aparthotel.
