Let’s toast Northern Soul for opening a second NQ site

7 August 2019

NEED a grilled cheese fix after a Northern Quarter bar crawl? From September you won’t have to risk crossing bus-heavy Church Street to Northern Soul’s rustic carb cabin.

The hugely popular Soul boys are moving into the long empty Simple unit on Tib Street, giving themselves 50 covers inside plus 20 on the terrace. It will allow Dan Place and his team to expand their culinary repertoire as a restaurant with a drinks licence and even a proper breakfast menu.

Rumour has it you’ll even be able to book a table, but don’t worry it will still be grounded in grilled bread and cheese. Our ToM tip? Go for the Cuban Pete – low and slow BBQ pork, roast ham, melted cheese, French’s mustard & thinly sliced dill pickle for £6.50.

Northern Soul are retaining their original HQ and their second outlet on Piccadilly Station Approach and we expect them once again to run one of the few worthwhile food stalls at the Christmas Markets.

Northern Soul, 44 Tib Street, Manchester M4 1LA.
