MFDF welcomes Deliciously Ella to the City this Autumn

26 April 2017

MANCHESTER Food and Drink Festival has announced that award-winning cookery author and entrepreneur Ella Mills will be appearing at this year’s event. It's quite a coup for MFDF to host the woman who conquered the food world through her blog, deliciouslyella.com.

As part of the festival’s 20th anniversary the eating well champion will be hosting two ticketed pop-up banquets (a lunch service and a dinner service) on Saturday, September 30, at the Festival Hub on Albert Square.

Her business, Deliciously Ella, has three deli sites in London, devoted to serving her specifically natural recipes. Ella will be creating a Manchester version of her delis on Albert Square plus the banquets, serving up a host of her trademark dishes, including customisable salad bowls and organic cold pressed juices and smoothies.

In between the two banquets there will be a Deliciously Ella Q&A event and book signing for the public. Throughout the day too festival visitors will also be able to sample her Deliciously Ella energy balls distributed by her team.

Ella's rise has been phenomenal. Her first book was published in January 2015 and has been the UK's best selling debut cookbook and a NY Times best seller. She has since released a further two best selling books, created a #1 app, and with her husband, opened the three MaE three stores in London, as well as launching a product line across the UK.

Commenting on the festival Ella Mills said: “I’m really excited to bring our delis to Manchester - it’s the first time we’ve taken the team to another UK city for an event, so it’s really special for us."

Phil Jones, Festival Director, added: “Ella is world renowned for her work and it’s a real coup for the Festival’s 20th anniversary that she has decided to bring a pop-up banquet for the first time to us here in Manchester. I personally am really looking forward to welcoming Ella to the city, and sampling some of her fabulous food.”

Tickets will be on sale soon from www.foodanddrinkfestival.com.

The Festival, running from September 28 to October 9 across Manchester, is the UK's largest urban food and drink festival and is famed for celebrating innovation and the best Manchester has to offer. This year’s special 20th anniversary edition will see the event welcome a stream of national, international and local food and drink brands who will all be playing their part in making this the best festival ever. It will feature dozens of exciting foodie events from extraordinary banquets to kids cookery classes.
