NORTH BREWING CO TAP TAKEOVER AT KOSMONAUT WITH FOOD MATCHING FROM HIP HOP CHIP SHOP

3 May 2017 by Neil Sowerby

NORTH in Leeds can stake a fair claim to being the UK’s first craft beer bar back in 1997. So the only real surprise in them opening their own brewery was it took so long – almost two decades.

Well, it was worth the wait as Manc hopheads will discover when North Brewing Co host a one night tap takeover of Kosmonaut on Wednesday, May 10, from 5pm till late.

An eclectic selection from their beer catalogue will be paired with dishes from the Tariff Street bar’s own resident street food team, The Hip Hop Chip Shop.

It will be interesting to see how the likes of beer battered gherkins, Shell L Cool J spiced crab cakes, the signature Feastie Boys platter and who knows what surprise bites match up to North’s core range of Transmission (IPA), Sputnik (American Pale), Herzog (Kolsch style), Prototype (Session pale) and Full Fathom 5 (coffee and coconut porter). Or maybe beer and food offerings will be completely different – that’s what makes such events so fascinating.

Amy Clarkson, Kosmonaut’s General Manager, tells us: “It’s a massive honour to have North Brewing Co take over the taps and it’s always a pleasure to work with the guys; they dish out some of the tastiest and most interesting brews in the business”.

Kosmonaut, 10 Tariff Street, Manchester M1 2FF. 07496 977443.
