Record Breaker at MFDF

10 October 2008

Cocktail guru and bar legend, Jamie Stephenson, shuck and stirred his way into the record books last night, creating a new world record by making 400 cocktails from the Diffords Guide (The Mixologist Bible) in the time of 3 hours 40 minutes and 53 seconds.

The event, held as part of the Manchester Food and Drink Festival in a packed out Taste Tipi down at Spinningfields Pavilion, was a high octane affair with Jamie, and his back bar team, hardly stopping to breathe as he worked his way alphabetically through every cocktail imaginable. The atmosphere and audience participation helped spur on the event, not least because of the quantity of alcohol they had to drink their way through. Cocktails were being sold off at £2 each, with all proceeds going to the MFDF Community Foundation.

So, congratulations to Jamie on now becoming not only a world champion bartender but now a record breaker as well. Well done, it just goes to prove dedication’s what you need...
