Restaurant industry legend Nick Lander is star turn at Northern Restaurant Bar Debate

30 January 2015

NICK Lander, the writer, consultant, restaurateur and author of The Art of the Restaurateur, has been announced as the headline speaker of the NRB Debate 2015.

Taking place at the Northern Restaurant & Bar exhibition in Manchester Central on March 17 this compelling Q&A, chaired by the event’s CEO, Thom Hetherington, will allow hospitality professionals to hear Nick discuss his thoughts on the universal rules of running restaurants.

In writing the book Nick, Financial Times restaurant critic and husband of wine guru Jancis Robinson, met restaurateurs across the world, including Danny Meyer in New York, Russell Norman in London and Neil Perry in Sydney, but as a proud Mancunian he is delighted to have an excuse to come ‘home’.

“I’m thrilled to be invited to speak at the NRB Debate, and delighted to return to the city that first titillated my tastebuds.” he says. “The region’s food and drink scene is clearly blossoming so it will be fascinating to discuss the Art of the Restaurateur and its application in the North.”

The NRB Debate takes place in Manchester on Tuesday March 17 at the Northern Restaurant & Bar show, the largest hospitality trade exhibition outside London. Tickets for the NRB Debate are priced at £60 (inc. lunch from Beef and Pudding, wine and VAT) and are available from www.NRBDebate.co.uk.

Nigel Haworth and Craig Bancroft, from Michelin-starred Northcote and Ribble Valley Inns, will also take part in the debate, which forms part of Northern Hospitality Week, five days of world class industry debates and special one-off business events plus Action Against Hunger’s Too Many Critics Manchester dinner.
