VIET Shack are going from strength. Not content with winning the Cheap Eats category in this year’s Manchester Food and Drink Awards and running a resident stall at the Friday Food Fights, the Arndale Market street food aces have launched a second full-time outlet at Koh Tao in Fallowfield. This self-styled dive bar with a Thai-beach theme only opened in September, but have cannily complemented the cocktail offering with some cutting edge tucker. Catering for the student punter, the menu is divided into two sections: ‘When you’re broke’ and ‘When you’re rich’. Specialities include King Prawn Summer Rolls and Chicken ‘n’ Mango Salad (broke), alongside Lemongrass Chicken Burger and Spicy Tomato Pulled Pork Stew (rich).
