AS we count down to the North West’s major culinary celebration of the year, Manchester Food and Drink Festival (Sep 26-Oct 7) it’s good to welcome further proof of the culinary vibrancy of the region – the inaugural Stockport Food & Drink Festival (Sept 6-8).
Highlight comes at the town centre cookery theatre on Saturday 7th when celeb chef Simon Rimmer demos simple dishes from his Didsbury veggie restaurant Greens and Channel 4 spin-off, his Sunday Brunch cookbook.
There will be 30 food and drink traders across the Market Place, offering a range of goodies from jams to jalapenos, burgers to bagels, chipolatas to chorizo, while further chef demos will feature contributions from the Produce Hall and Hillgate Cakery.
Over at Merseyway it’s a ‘Strawberry Affair’ with 40 further stalls and musical entertainment led by Carmen Meander and the Strawberry Sounds stage. Kids get strawberry themed craft workshops and other treats. Find out more via this link.
