Solita empire expands with acquisition of NQ neighbour Montpellier’s

28 January 2016

EMPIRE building continues apace at Solita. Not content with running hugely succesful restaurants in Didsbury, Prestwich and the Northern Quarter, Franco Sotgiu and his team have taken over Montpellier’s, a Big Manc throw from that Turner Street original.

For the moment it’s business as usual with a mini-makeover not interfering with its popularity as a rare NQ sport watching bar with three big HD screens but offering an enhanced cocktail and craft beer menu and – yes, we find it hard to believe – not  a burger in sight. There’ll also be a 10 per cent drinks discount for Solita customers awaiting a table there on bust Friday and Saturday evenings.

The new regime is in operation from Monday, February 1. The refit’s well under way at Solita’s New York steakhouse-style operation in the Barton Arcade, Deansgate.

Montpellier’s, 42 Back Turner Street, Manchester M4 1FR.
