Stonemasons Timperley to relaunch as a community gastropub

10 November 2017

GOOD to see a splendid old pub being given a makeover, so we look forward to the relaunch of Timperley’s Stonemasons Arms on Saturday, December 2.

It’s the second project from Pilling and Pride – Steve Pilling, ex-Damson and the Chop Houses teamed with Angus Cameron Pride, once of Living Ventures and Gaucho – after their impressive revamp of Didsbury’s Dog and Partridge

The difference between the two ventures is that while the D&P is primarily a pub with snacks, the Stonemasons is branded as ‘destination premium casual dining and drinking venue’.

Exec chef Patrick Moyo, also ex-Gaucho, has created an all-day menu featuring brunch dishes, wood-fired pizzas, steaks, home comforts and Sunday lunch. Core beer offeringnis from landlords Greene King beer, but it will be supplemented by craft beers from Pilling’s own brewery, The Gasworks and guests such as Wild Beer, Brightside and Alphabet.

Steve Pilling, chairman of Pilling & Pride told us: “ The Stonemasons Arms has been the heart of the community in Timperley for many years and it is great to get the opportunity to carry on the legacy of this gem of a venue. The village is really on the up and with an influx of new businesses and families moving to the area, it’s the right time to introduce our concept to the village.”

MD Angus Pride said: “The Stonemasons Arms is iconic. It’s a much-loved landmark venue in Timperley and we aim to give it a new lease of life and reintroduce it to a new generation to enjoy. Because we're a community offering, we need to be all things to all people, so you’ll be able to visit to celebrate an anniversary on date night or a family reunion, brunch with friends and afternoon drinks. We look forward to welcoming new and old guests alike.”
