Suddenly it feels like summer – B.Eat Street is back sunny side up

28 April 2017 by Neil Sowerby

WELCOME back, B.Eat Street, we missed you. Friday, April 28 sees the return of the quirkiest food and booze pop-up in town, hidden away high above Deansgate in the Great Northern Warehouse.

OK, there have been many changes since it shut its doors as a permanent parade of vendors, but the weekend street food party in a secret beer garden vibe is refreshed.

Fronting the whole shebang are two colourful new cocktail bars in the form of Junior Jackson’s, a live music venue and The Golden Pineapple, a Cuban-style cocktail bar inspired by Havana's historic La Piña de Plata.

Along with draft beers and wines, the venues will be serving up a mix of classic cocktails to wash down eats provided by resident food vendor Eat New York, specialists in salt beef bagels, burgers, subs and dogs.

Eat New York will also be joined every week by a rotating programme of pop-up eateries such as Dirty Revolution, Paella Y Tapas and Burger Bear.

All this then plus a large outside terrace for soaking up the rays (ToM loves the B.Eat boys’ eternal optimism) and, of course, a programme of renowned Manchester promoters and DJs who will be hosting the weekend decks.

Kicking off the Easter weekend will be local promoter Bad Fun, with names such as Joy Social and Groove already scheduled for the rest of the summer.

B.Eat Street MD Lyndon Higginson tells us: “When the sun shines in Manchester it’s described as the best place on earth. The only problem is there aren’t many good spots to really enjoy it with a drink and outside music, but we are back to change that. Our secret terrace is the perfect secluded sun-trap and with tunes, food and booze on offer what more could a Mancunian want on a gloriously sunny day.”

B.Eat Street officially reopens on Friday, April 28 from 4pm-12pm and will run until August Bank Holiday. Saturdays and Sundays B.Eat Street will be open from 12am-12pm. More info here.
