Suri the RED ROSE aims to help King Street bloom as a dining destination

29 January 2017

IT’S good to see the site of the ill-fated Quill filled by a new restaurant. Hoping to follow in the acclaimed footsteps of El Gato Negro to help King Street take off as a food and drink destination is Suri, a Middle-Eastern inspired Mediterranean operation.

The project, dreamt up by property consultant and food lover Andrea George, is due to launch in March. She told us: “I have been waiting for the right site and location to deliver this concept and I’m extremely excited to finally be announcing the arrival of Suri. King Street is the ideal destination for us, located in the heart of the city’s business and leisure district.

“The name Suri is taken from the Persian word meaning Red Rose, representing the restaurant’s ethos that beauty extends through our entire dining experience, from the aesthetics to dishes.

“The menu offers a diverse selection of plates, using local suppliers, served in a relaxed and informal style to encourage a sharing culture, along with a carefully crafted drinks list for people to enjoy at the bar or while dining.

“Set across two floors, Suri simply represents our passion for the vibrant and diverse dishes of the Mediterranean, to which we have lovingly added inspiration from the rich cultures of the Middle East.”

Suri, 20/22 King St, Manchester, M2 6AG.
