THE PEARL: TUSCAN WINE WINDOW OPENING IN THE HEART OF PRESTWICH VILLAGE

18 April 2024 by Rhiannon Ingle

Now, you've probably seen the Tuscan-inspired window all over your socials - with one particular one in Florence seemingly going viral every summer.

Well, any al fresco fanatics out there will no longer have to venture all the way to Europe to enjoy the experience as the beloved British dining room, The Pearl, is now offering up an Italian wine window of their very own.

Nestled in the Manchester suburbs, the team behind the eatery famed for serving up seasonal, locally sourced British dishes have introduced a lovely Lilliputian wooden door down the side of the dining room.

All you have to do is ring the brass bell to order a house special glass of vino from the chalkboard menu, people watch on the pavement and pray for sun.

Clearly excited to open up the wine window, Sam Taylor, owner of The Pearl, says: "It was a last minute decision to knock a hole in the wall and bring a slice of Florence to Prestwich and now Summer is here, I’m so glad we did.

"We’ll be serving special glasses from the window – one red, one white – and a house beer. We might even crack open some sparkling or a particularly delicious rosé on especially balmy evenings."

Drinks will be served out of the Mediterranean-inspired wine door from 5pm onwards - perfect for a post-work bev.

The wine window officially opens early next month (Friday 3rd May), just in time for summer, and closes up in September.
