Three Wine Women come to Manchester Food and Drink Festival

20 July 2015

Manchester Food and Drink Festival has announced full details of a wine tasting led by an all female cast, as part of its two-week programme of events in the city centre.

The specialist tasting brings together 3 top flight stars of the wine world.

On Thursday 10th September BBC's Kate Goodman (owner of Didsbury's Reserve Wine Shop and star of BBC 2’s Food and Drink), The Guardian's Fiona Beckett, and Evuna Manchester's Jane Dowler make up a trio of talent hosting an extraordinary evening of wines at the Festival Hub on Albert Square.

The evening will kick off with a fizz tasting with Kate Goodman. She’ll be exploring the nuances of Prosecco, and checking out if guests know the difference between the fizz of the moment and it’s more understated, leftfield cousin, the English sparking wine.

Fiona Beckett will introduce a cheese and wine matching, which will focus on white wine. Fiona will be dispelling the popular myth that red is the best friend of fromage.

Jane Dowler will then bring a flavour of Spain to the evening, with a Spanish red wine tasting and food matching – guests will find out what rocks with Rioja and is Tempranillo’s truest friend.

Kate Goodman will round things off with a Sherry tasting and dessert pairing.

Tickets are now on sale at www.foodanddrinkfestival.com for the Three Wine Women event on Thursday 10th September at 18.30 at the Festival Hub, and cost  £25.
